Ariel Factories

 

The Ariel factories were located in Selly Oak, South Birmingham. The original factory, founded in 1896, was in Park Road. This was the original Components Limited factory. These pictures were taken in 1998, shortly before the factories were demolished to make way for student accomodation for Birmingham University. The Park Road factory has already been partly demolished.
The main factory was in Grove Road. It covered a considerable area. The picture above right is of the main office block and below is part of the original floor of the main entrance foyer with the Ariel horses head logo. These factories were all demolished to make way for student accomodation.
